Lumen Civitatis' inaugural event was the Magnificat Day of Joy, which it co-sponsored with the Magnificat Foundation, on November 1, 2014.  The event was an extraordinary celebration of the splendor of the Catholic faith, witnessing to the beauty of Catholic culture, proclaiming the richness of the Church's teaching, and inspiring and invigorating local leadership through glorious liturgical celebrations, preaching, music, art, and keynote addresses.   Memphis was just the third city to host this high-profile Catholic event, following prior Days in Orange County, CA in 2012 and Philadelphia, PA in 2013.  The event was covered live by EWTN and reached 140 countries and several million viewers, in addition to the approximately 2,000 guests at the Cannon Center who hailed from 37 different states, Canada, France, Lichtenstein, and the United Kingdom.
